Is the purifier with the most filters the best?
Our SENSE Vital Air purifier has 3 highly efficient filters:
pre-filter: efficiently removes larger solid impurities like mites, larger dust, pollen, ash, moulds, mould spores, dandruff, hair, etc. It helps to extend the life of the main (HEPA) filter for the removal of solid impurities.
HEPA filter: also efficiently removes smaller solid impurities that passed through the pre-filter (efficiency above 99 % for impurities larger than 1 micron), e.g. smog, soot, flying dust, moulds, cigarette / oily kitchen / heating smoke, viruses, bacteria, mite faeces, etc.
carbon filter: efficiently removes gaseous impurities: e.g. flue gases from burning and heating (carbon, sulphur and nitrogen oxides), toxic and other odours (hydrogen sulphide, ammonia and others), vapours from cleaning and cosmetic products, glued and varnished furniture, carpets, floors, chipboard, plasterboard and millions of other products (e.g. carcinogenic and mutagenic volatile organic compounds (VOCs), such as formaldehyde, benzene, vinyl chloride, acetone, toluene, acrolein, naphthalene, styrene) and others.
Why don’t SENSE purifiers have more filters? Are you sure you need more than 3? Our 3 highly efficient, robust filters with above-standard capacity remove ALL kinds of impurities (solid and gaseous) from the interior air with a HIGH EFFICIENCY and have a LONG SERVICE LIFE. Other purifiers do not use a robust carbon filter with an excellent absorption capacity for gaseous pollutants like our purifiers do, but granular or even powdered carbon with a significantly lower efficiency and absorption capacity (more than 20 % lower).
A set of 5 or more filters increases the costs:
of spare filters – some low-capacity filters have to be changed every two weeks, others yearly. Our high-capacity filters have to be changed once per 3 to 5 years (according to the pollution). The more filters there are, the higher the costs of their replacement (and more time required).
of operation – if you have more filters, you need a more efficient fan in order to draw the air through all filter planes. This results in higher operating costs and, more importantly, higher noise levels.
A purifier with more than 3 filters usually compensates for the low efficiency and capacity of the filters used. When servicing such a filter system, you pay for 5 or more filters instead of 3. Why keep buying and changing five or more filters? Do not become the slave of such a device and do not invest money or time in it.
Devote your time and money to more important things, such as your health or the optimal use of your leisure time.
Is one air purifier enough?
The air purifier is suitable for any room in your home – whether it is a flat or a house. Living room, children’s room, bedroom, kitchen, study, gym, etc. Wherever and whenever you need it.
Do not hesitate to move the air purifier from one room to another – our purifiers have casters. However, make sure you keep the air purifier running in one room for at least 2 hours in order to clean the air properly. For more tips on how to use the air purifier properly, click here.
If there are multiple people with health problems in your household (sufferers of allergies, asthma, breathing difficulties, cardiovascular diseases, frequent migraines, tiredness or headaches, acute illnesses, etc.) or a pregnant woman, child or elderly person, or if it is a smoking household – you can buy another purifier (e.g. one in the living room and the other in the children’s room).
In addition, our air purifier is also suitable for offices, workshops, medical waiting rooms, hair salons, wellness and beauty centres, schools (classrooms, reading rooms, libraries), shops, restaurants and other interiors.
Did you know that the same air purifier can also be used in offices, waiting rooms or hair salons?
Our air purifiers are suitable not only for your home, but also for offices, workshops, medical waiting rooms, hair and nail salons, wellness and fitness centres, beauty parlours, schools (classrooms, reading rooms, libraries), shops, restaurants, cafés, bars and other interiors.
Do you know how to choose the right air purifier?
Do not just look at the price. The price must be balanced by the value you receive with the air purifier.
Look at the following parameters of air purifiers:
Air power: how large a room the purifier is able to handle in comparison to your room. In 2008, the State Health Institute stated that an air purifier should be able to purify the entire room volume 1.5 to 3 times per hour (a higher limit is better for households with allergy and asthma sufferers, children, elderly persons, pregnant women, smokers, people with breathing problems and other chronic or acute illnesses).
The efficiency of individual filters of the air purifier: many manufacturers compensate for the low efficiency of individual filters with their increased number and frequent filter changes then increase the costs of the whole air purifier. Filters for solid particles should have an efficiency of at least 99 % (out of 1,000 impurities, only letting 10 pass through). In the case of carbon filters, ask about the quality of the activated carbon used (pellets with an excellent absorption surface (capacity for removed impurities) as opposed to granular or powdered activated carbon with a substantially smaller absorption surface).
The service life of individual filters, which significantly affects the operating costs of the air purifier: if the purifier has 5 or more filters, you will have to regularly change these 5 or more filters in order to maintain high-quality air in your household. Some filters, according to their manufacturers, have to be changed every 2 weeks (usually the so-called pre-filters), others every year (the main filters of the purifier). The purchase of each filter increases the operating costs of the air purifier and if you have to make this purchase every year, you became the slave of such a device! Do not put time into it, let alone money! The filters of our air purifier have a long life in normal pollution conditions: pre-filter 6 months, HEPA filter for solid impurities 3 to 5 years and carbon filter also 3 to 5 years. Why? The long life results from the robustness of the filters (sufficient filter medium) as well its quality (the carbon filter has an excellent absorption surface thanks to extruded activated carbon as opposed to powdered or granular activated carbon).
Noise level at different speeds: compare the noise levels of purifiers at individual speeds. At home, you surely do not want to be forced to increase the volume of your TV when watching your favourite show due to a noisy air purifier. On the other hand, the importance of noise as a criterion for the selection of an air purifier is reduced by the fact that the purifier should ideally (for the most efficient absorption of airborne impurities into the filter medium) run at a lower speed and therefore produce less noise. A noise level of about 70 dB is the noise produced by showering.
What is the amount of plastics used by the purifier? Is the whole body of the air purifier plastic? Are filters fitted in plastic frames? Or does the air purifier have an all-metal body and filters in metal frames? The plastics used by air purifiers release harmful chemicals into the interior and the purifiers then pollute the air in the room themselves. Make sure you do not buy an air purifier that has to clean itself.
What certificates does the air purifier have? It’s not enough if dealers say they have them. Look at them in detail. Does the certificate show low filter efficiency?
Does the air purifier have above-standard warranties? Does it provide anything more than the statutory two-year warranty? For what exactly and how important is it for the operation of the purifier?
Where and under what conditions can you service the air purifier (under warranty, after warranty) so as not to get trapped when something happens.
Different households or types of interiors may require different parameters. Decide according to your specific needs.
